About Don Humberto
High Priest of the Grand Central Sun
Don Humberto Soncco Quispe is a Paqo, the High Priest of the Q’ero people of the Peruvian Andes. Unlike a typical shaman, Don Humberto is one to whom shamans themselves come for initiation.
His Native name, Sonko Kispe, translates to “Crystal Heart,” reflecting the profound purity and love he embodies. His presence has been compared to that of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Born into an ancient family of Andean priests, Don Humberto carries the unbroken lineage of wisdom and ceremony passed down through countless generations. With the help of the spiritual powers of the Apus (meaning “Lord” in the Quechua language), he conducts sacred ceremonies and initiations that transmit rare and ancient streams of consciousness.
The Q’ero regard him as Q’uraq Akulleq—the chief sage and High Priest of their tradition. This title recognizes his unique ability to travel freely between realms, initiate other shamans and junior Paqos, and transmit the Andean spiritual tradition in all its dimensions as encoded in the Chakana (the Andean cross and map of consciousness). Don Humberto is also known for his gift of weaving together diverse cultural traditions in order to share this ancient spirituality with the wider world.
The Q’ero people themselves are among the last direct descendants of the ancient Incan high priests. For centuries, they lived in remote villages at altitudes over 16,000 feet, preserving their wisdom in isolation from external influences. Long thought lost, the Q’ero emerged from the mountains in the 1950s to share their sacred knowledge and prophecies with the world.
Known as Weavers of Light, the Q’ero literally weave the symbols of the fifth dimension into their mantas and textiles, which radiate light and life energy. Remarkably, their lineage has remained intact over centuries, safeguarding ancient knowledge and codes that reveal their spiritual kinship with other wisdom-keeping peoples, such as the Maya, Hopi, Navajo, and Tibetans. Their languages, symbols, and rituals bear striking similarities, reflecting a shared, timeless origin of human wisdom.
